Tomorrow, head coach Mai Duc Chung travels to FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023 Drawing ceremony

As planned, the draw and schedule for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023 will take place at 19:30 (local time) on October 22, 2022 in Auckland (New Zealand). Representative of Vietnam women’s team, head coach Mai Duc Chung attended the ceremony.

Head coach Mai Duc Chung’s journey departs from Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) at 18:30 on October 20, transit in Singapore and Australia, before arriving in Auckland, New Zealand at 17:30 (local time) on October 21.

The draw ceremony took place at Aotea Center, Auckland, New Zealand with the participation of representatives of 29 teams qualifying for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia/New Zealand, and 3 teams participate in the play-off.

The 29 qualified teams and three play-off tournament slot placeholders will be allocated to four pots of eight teams each. Vietnam team stands in pot 3 with Denmark, Switzẻland, Republic of Ireland, Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, and Jamaica.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is the first time Vietnamese women’s football has qualified to participate and head coach Mai Duc Chung’s team is one of six representatives of Asia at the biggest women’s football competition in the world, along with China and Japan. Japan, Korea, Philippines and co-host Australia.

In order to have the best preparation for the journey of the Vietnamese women’s team in the most prestigious tournament in the world, after the draw, head coach Mai Duc Chung and the delegation of the Vietnam Football Federation will have one-week trip to Australia/New Zealand to find out and choose suitable places to accomadate and practice for the team.
