Wang Jing Bin broke the offside trap of Vietnamese defenders to open the scoring for the hosts in the 20th minute.
In the 66th minute, Hoàng Thanh Tùng levelled the score for Việt Nam.
After that, Việt Nam had several chances to raise the score but failed.
Việt Nam will face Mexico tomorrow and the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.
