Dong Tam Long An and Matsubara will compete for the title of the Binh Duong Television-sponsored invitational football tournament/BTV Cup.

Dong Tam Long An edged past Da Nang in the semi-finals with a 1-0 marginal victory through a goal by Antonio Rodrigues while Matsubara beat Daejeon 4-3 in penalty shoot-out.

Da Nang played the semi-final without their key striker Almeida due to suspension while Dong Tam Long An were missing Minh Phong and Tshamala Kabanga.

Dong Tam Long An dominated the game and came close after 15 minutes when Awudu, who is playing on a trial basis, headed just wide.

After the scare, Da Nang increased the pace of their game and had a good chance to open the scoring on the half hour mark. Van Meo was alone on goalie Fabio Dos Santos, but instead of finishing, he passed the ball to Jerferson, whose finish deflected off a Dong Tam Long An defender and went wide.

Dong Tam Long An manager Calisto brought on Minh Phuong and the Vietnam national skipper made an immediate impact, combining with Rodrigues before setting him a good chance to break the deadlock.

Da Nang could have equalised if Dos Santos had not denied Hong Minh”s well-struck freekick and Huu Hung had not blasted over the bar.

In another match, Matsubara beat Daejeon 4-3 in shoot-out to make final with Dong Tam Long An.
