In his opening address, FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized football’s unique role in bringing people together across the world in the current global context. He also acknowledged the efforts of FIFA and its member associations in organizing the largest tournament in the history of the competition, hosted across three countries.

President Infantino highlighted the unprecedented scale of the event, noting the involvement of 50,000 volunteers, more than 5,000 full-time staff, and the issuance of over 300,000 accreditation (AD) cards for the entire FIFA World Cup. He described these figures as a testament to the enormous organizational effort required to deliver a successful global sporting event.

During the opening session on June 14, participants reviewed several key strategic initiatives for the 2026–2030 period, including the FIFA Forward 4.0 Programme, youth competitions, and digital transformation projects.

In particular, the global FIFA Forward 4.0 Programme was highlighted as a major development platform, enabling Member Associations (MAs) to access FIFA support schemes more effectively, especially those related to football infrastructure development. The programme continues to play a vital role in strengthening the capacity of national associations and supporting the sustainable growth of football worldwide.

The FIFA Executive Football Summit 2026 is being held over two days, from June 14 to 15.
