Vietnam Football Federation and Mr Park Hang Seo mutually agree on contract extension
After a time of negotiation in the spirit of mutual target towards the common goals of stable and solid development of Vietnam football, today – on 10th November 2021, Vietnam Football Federation and Coach Park Hang Seo officially reach an agreement to extend the contract which was signed by both parties, with the valid from 1 February 2022 until 31 January 2023.

During the 04 years together with Vietnam Football from 2017 until now, Mr Park Hang Seo has made strong impression with historical milestones: miracle achievement as Runner – up of AFC U23 Championship 2018, followed by reaching the Semi – Finals of ASIAD 2018 for the first time and also the first time achieving the SEA Games men’s Gold medal after decades of waiting. At National team level, under the guidance of Mr Park Hang Seo, the “Golden Star Warriors” has excellently achieved the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 Champion title after 10 years, followed by the achievement of qualifying to the Quarter – Finals of Asian Cup 2019 and the recent achievement is reaching the Third Round – Asian Qualifiers – FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. This achievement is considered a historical resounding victory affirming a great step – forward of Vietnam football in the world arena.
The contract is extended with a high consensus of will, point of views and development targets between Vietnam Football Federation and Mr Park Hang Seo which is considered to create favorable conditions to continue the right orientations for Vietnam National team’s plan in the near future. Besides, with an aim to create favorable conditions for Mr Park Hang Seo to focus on the coaching works at Vietnam National Team, Vietnam Football Federation will also have some adjustment in organizational structure of Vietnam U23 National team’s Coaching board. Accordingly, after completing his duties at 31 SEA Games 2021, Mr Park Hang Seo will take the position of Team Manager at Vietnam U23 National team and hand over the position of Head Coach to another Coach appointed by Vietnam Football Federation. This will both ensure the connection between the roles of Mr Park Hang Seo with Vietnam National Team and Vietnam U23 National team, and at the same time reducing the work quantity and pressure for the Korean teacher to better complete the important duties at Vietnam National team in the coming period.
Currently, Mr Park Hang Seo and the Coaching board are gathering with Vietnam National team for the Third round – Asian Qualifiers – FIFA World Cup 2022, and at the same time preparing for the goal of defending Championship title at AFF Suzuki Cup 2020.
