From the opening minutes, coach Diego Giustozzi’s players asserted their dominance. In the 3rd minute, Tu Minh Quang finished decisively, beating goalkeeper Domingos Gama to open the scoring for Vietnam. Just two minutes later, Thinh Phat doubled the lead with a dangerous long-range strike, putting the team 2–0 ahead early on.

With a dynamic style of play and strong ball control, the Vietnam futsal team maintained constant pressure. In the 12th minute, Nguyen Da Hai made it 3–0 after a series of attacking efforts. Before the first half ended, young player Tran Quang Nguyen left his mark with a precise close-range finish in the 20th minute, giving Vietnam a commanding 4–0 lead.

In the second half, the pattern of the game remained largely unchanged as Vietnam continued to dominate. In the 25th minute, Dinh Cong Vien made it 5–0 with a precise finish. A few minutes later, Cong Dai added a sixth goal with a powerful strike.

Despite Timor-Leste pushing forward in search of a consolation, Vietnam’s defense held firm. In the 33rd minute, Nguyen Thac Hieu shone with a clinical finish to extend the lead to 7–0. Timor-Leste’s efforts only earned them a consolation goal in the 37th minute, scored by Joel Fernandes.

At the final whistle, Vietnam secured a 7–1 victory over Timor-Leste, collecting six points after two matches and strengthening their chances of reaching the semifinals. If Myanmar fail to cause an upset against Thailand later the same day, coach Diego Giustozzi’s side will officially book their place in the next round.

In the final group match, Vietnam will face hosts Thailand in what is expected to be a clash for the top spot in Group A.
