This session did not have the appearance of the trio of gold medal winners at the 31st SEA Games, Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Nguyen Tien Linh, who were allowed to gather late. However, the appearance of new assistants Nguyen Anh Duc and Cedric Rogers also created a new atmosphere for the whole Vietnamese team.

During the training session, in the role of a fitness assistant (replacing coach Park Sung Gyun, on duty with U23 Vietnam at the 2022 AFC U23 Championship), fitness coach Cedric Rogers asked the whole team, including 3 goalkeepers share a same lesson. Previously, it was common for goalkeepers to practice separately with the coach instead of warming up with the whole team. However, with Mr. Rogers, the goalkeepers Van Lam, Tuyen Quang, Tuan Manh also had to run, dispute the ball, hold the ball and pass the ball like any other player on the field. That brings excitement to Van Lam and his teammates.

Head coach Park Hang-seo spent the first training session for the players to relax and find cohesion. However, at the end of the training session, he called 4 HAGL players separately, including Van Toan, Cong Phuong, Van Thanh, and Hong Duy to practice individually.

According to the plan, Vietnam team will practice one more session, then on May 28, move to Ho Chi Minh City. The team will have 3 more training sessions in Ho Chi Minh City before facing Afghanistan at 19:00 on June 1 at Thong Nhat Stadium. Regarding this match, the organisation committee will sell tickets from 09:00 on May 29 at Thong Nhat Stadium with the prices: 150,000 VND/ticket; 300,000 VND/ticket, 400,000 VND/ticket.
