Vietnam team departs for Thailand ahead of ASEAN Championship 2026’s first match
On the morning of July 20, the Vietnam national team departed for Chonburi, Thailand, to continue their preparations for the opening match of the ASEAN Championship 2026, officially beginning their campaign to defend the regional title.

Head coach Kim Sang Sik and his players travelled on a Vietnam Airlines flight, departing from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 12:45 p.m. and scheduled to arrive in Bangkok at 2:45 p.m. local time on the same day. From Bangkok, the team will continue by bus to Chonburi, where they will face Timor-Leste in their opening match of the tournament.
Having completed an intensive preparation period and buoyed by strong determination throughout the squad, the Vietnam national team will be aiming to make a winning start to their ASEAN Championship 2026 title defence.
