Vision Asia: Can Duoc are Long An Provincial League champs

Can Duoc clinched the Long An Provincial League title recently with a 1-0 win over Thu Thua at the Can Duoc Stadium.

Thirteen clubs, one from each of the 13 districts in Long An, participated in the Long An Provincial League. It provided an

excellent platform for young players, coaches and referees to showcase their football skills.

The League part of AFC”s Vision Vietnam programme – was sponsored by the Milky US dairy company who have committed to continuing their sponsorship next year.

General Secretary of Long An Football Association, Pham Van Chuong, said: SLong An Provincial League has made a positive impression on all the stakeholders, including sponsors. Many people from both Long An and outside Long An have supported the League. We are very happy with its achievements.⬝

President of Long An FA Le Thanh Tam also congratulated the clubs on the success of the league in 2007 and promised further development for the next season.

SLong An Provincial League was successful in 2007,⬝ said Le Thanh.

SWe know that more effort is required for next season. We will ensure that the League will have 14 teams and a two-round format in 2008.⬝
