U22 Vietnam starts practicing forward to the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022
On the evening of Aug 10, U22 Vietnam started the first training session to prepare for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022.
Due to the fast-changing of COVID-19 pandemic, the members of the U22 team gathered earlier than the previous plan. To ensure the prevention of COVID-19, the team implements the “bubble principle” in Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. Follow the plan of head coach Park Hang-seo, coach Kim Han-yoon and coaching assistants will continue to guide the team.
In the first training part, the coaching assistants will focus on the physical strength of the players.
In the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022, Vietnam is in Group I with Myanmar, Hong Kong, and host China Taipei. However, due to the withdraw of DPR Korea, AFC decided to adjust the team of Group K, and choose one team from Group G, H, I, and J to move to Group K.
Therefore, the group of U23 Vietnam may have 3 teams included Vietnam, Myanmar, China Taipei; or Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China Taipei.
The draw ceremony will take place at 2 p.m (GMT+7) on Aug 11 and broadcast on The AFC Hub.
