The National Youth Football Championship 2024 final round has kicked off

On the afternoon of July 3rd, at Buon Ma Thuot Stadium (Dak Lak province), the Vanguard Youth and Children Newspaper (TNTP&NĐ), in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Dak Lak province, organized the opening ceremony of the National Youth Football Championship (U13) Yamaha Cup 2024.

The organizers, together with local leaders and representatives of sponsors, presented Commemorative Flags and flowers to the participating teams at the opening ceremony of the National Youth Football Championship (U13) Yamaha Cup 2024, held on the afternoon of July 3rd at Buon Ma Thuot Stadium, Dak Lak province.

The ceremony was attended by literary figure and journalist Nguyen Phan Khue, member of the Central Youth Union Council and Editor-in-Chief of Vanguard Youth and Children Newspaper (TNTP&NĐ), who served as the Head of the Organizing Committee. Also present were Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Trang, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation and Co-Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Le Phuc Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Dak Lak province, representing the hosting unit; Mr. Morikawa Yasutoshi, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Yamaha Motor Company; and Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Tam, representing Dynamic Company Limited, the official football sponsor of the tournament. Additionally, referees, coaching staff, players from the 16 participating teams, and numerous fans were in attendance.

Writer and journalist Nguyen Phan Khue, Head of the organizing committee, stated: “The tournament is part of the national competition system, co-organized annually by Vanguard Youth and Children Newspaper and the Vietnam Football Federation. Over the 27 years of its organization, the tournament has continuously improved in terms of organization and professionalism. It serves as a place to discover and nurture the football dreams of young players”.

On behalf of the main sponsor of the tournament, Mr. Morikawa Yasutoshi expressed pride and joy in Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. having supported youth football in Vietnam for over 20 years. Through sponsoring the National Youth Football Championship (U13), Yamaha Motor Vietnam contributes to building Vietnam’s football foundation for the future in collaboration with social organizations, thereby enhancing physical fitness for young adolescents.

Right after the opening ceremony, a match in Group A took place between the host team U13 Dak Lak and U13 Khanh Hoa. Despite prolonged rain, players from both teams displayed tremendous effort, delivering an exciting and visually appealing game for the audience. With the advantage of playing at home and enthusiastic support from the spectators, U13 Dak Lak successfully came from behind to win 2-1 against U13 Khanh Hoa.

As part of the Championship, the Organizing Committee collaborated with Júbilo Iwata Football Club (Japan) to conduct a workshop to exchange and share experiences in training and coaching U13 football for the Yamaha Cup. Additionally, they organized the U13 Yamaha Cup program where participants learned football skills from Júbilo Iwata coaches. These activities aimed to enhance the professionalism and quality of the tournament, encourage the development of outstanding football talents, and foster growth within the sport.
