Singapore 0-1 Vietnam
Vietnam, who defeated Bangladesh 2-0 on Matchday One, continued to pressure Singapore in the second half but keeper Aizil Yazid proved to be a stumbling block after he saved substitute Le Van Thuan’s effort from just above the box before producing a finger-tip save to deny Nguyen Thanh Nhan.
Singapore continued to live dangerously and almost fell behind in the 69th minute when Vietnam attacked again on the left channel with Nguyen Thanh Nhan hitting the bar.
Aizil, however, was finally beaten 10 minutes later when Nguyen Phi Hoang sent a pin-point cross to Le Van Thuan, who finished with a glancing header into the bottom left corner of the net.
Bangladesh 0-1 Yemen
Yemen came into the tie having earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Singapore in their opener.
However, Bangladesh proved to be a tough nut to crack as the first half ended goalless.
