Vietnam national team arrive in Incheon, ready to begin South Korea training camp
On the afternoon of July 2, the Vietnam national team arrived in Incheon, South Korea, officially beginning their overseas training camp as part of the team’s preparations for the ASEAN Cup 2026.
Head coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad landed at Incheon International Airport at 4:35 p.m. local time. Immigration procedures were completed smoothly thanks to the close coordination between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the local organisers, who had worked together in advance to ensure all logistical arrangements were in place.
In Incheon, the Vietnam national team is staying at a hotel conveniently located near the training venues, allowing for efficient travel between the accommodation and the training grounds. The team’s accommodation, catering, and overall facilities meet the standards required for national teams, providing the players with an optimal environment to focus on training and match preparation.
After checking into the hotel, the team had dinner and rested to recover from the journey before beginning their first training session on the afternoon of July 3.
According to the training schedule, the Vietnam national team will remain in South Korea until July 14. During the camp, head coach Kim Sang Sik and his players will play three friendly matches against progressively stronger opponents: Siheung FC of K League 3 on July 5, Yongin FC of K League 2 on July 8, and Gangwon FC of K League 1 on July 13. These fixtures are expected to provide valuable opportunities for the coaching staff to assess the squad and fine-tune the team’s preparations ahead of the ASEAN Cup 2026.
The South Korea training camp marks a crucial stage in the team’s preparations, allowing the coaching staff to continue assessing the squad, monitor the players’ form, and refine tactical plans before the team returns to Vietnam.
Following the camp, the Vietnam national team will shift its focus to an international friendly against Myanmar on July 18, which will serve as the final tune-up before embarking on their campaign to defend the ASEAN Cup 2026 title.
