In the first quarter-final, Truoi Tuoi Dong Nai Football Academy entered the match with high expectations after winning all three of their group-stage games. However, The Cong Viettel, with a disciplined style of play and sharp counter-attacks, secured a convincing 3-0 victory through goals from Hoang Phuoc, Xuan Cuong and Doan Chung in the 18th, 55th and 60+2nd minutes, respectively. The Cong Viettel will face Hanoi FC in the semi-finals.

In the second quarter-final, Hanoi FC and Ho Chi Minh City Police FC served up an entertaining, high-scoring contest featuring intense challenges and fierce competition. Hanoi FC took a 2-0 lead in the first half, before Ho Chi Minh City Police FC kept their hopes alive when Thinh Thien pulled one back in the 29th minute. However, Hanoi FC’s attack continued to impress as Nam Cuong and Duy Dat added two more goals to seal a convincing 4-1 victory. Hanoi FC will face familiar rivals The Cong Viettel in the semi-finals.

In the third quarter-final, title contenders Song Lam Nghe An had little difficulty asserting their dominance against Dong Nai. Duc Hieu opened the scoring as early as the second minute to give Song Lam Nghe An a 1-0 lead.

The majority of the play took place in Dong Nai’s half, while their counter-attacking efforts lacked effectiveness. Song Lam Nghe An continued to apply pressure and, towards the end of the first half, were awarded a penalty after a Dong Nai defender committed a foul inside the box. Duc Hieu stepped up and converted from the spot to complete his brace and give his team a 2-0 lead.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Song Lam Nghe An continuing to attack in search of more goals. Dong Nai were unable to find even a consolation goal and conceded once again in the 60th minute.

The 3-0 defeat saw Dong Nai miss out on a place in the semi-finals, with Song Lam Nghe An advancing instead.

The remaining quarter-final between hosts Hai Phong and Dong A Thanh Hoa was an evenly matched, end-to-end contest, with both sides creating opportunities and responding to each other’s attacks.

Backed by strong support from the stands, Hai Phong repeatedly threatened the Dong A Thanh Hoa goal. However, neither side was able to find the breakthrough, with the first half ending goalless. The stalemate continued after the break, with a goal for Hai Phong ruled out for offside.

With the score still 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes, the two teams had to settle the tie in a penalty shootout. Dong A Thanh Hoa’s goalkeeper made a crucial save to help his side prevail 5-4 on penalties.

The semi-final line-up is now confirmed: The Cong Viettel will face Hanoi FC, while Song Lam Nghe An will take on Dong A Thanh Hoa. The semi-finals will be played at Lach Tray Stadium on 11 July.
