Conference Held to Prepare for the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers in Phu Tho
On the afternoon of 5 August, a conference on preparations for the organisation of Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers was held at the Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Đào Tiến Cường, Deputy Director of the Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Head of the Local Organising Committee, with the participation of representatives from relevant provincial departments, agencies and organisations. Representing the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) were VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú and representatives from relevant departments directly involved in the tournament organisation.
At the conference, delegates reviewed the organisational plan and agreed on coordination arrangements between the VFF and the Local Organising Committee to ensure the best possible conditions for hosting Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers. Discussions focused on key areas including technical and competition matters, match and training venue facilities, security, medical services, logistics, communications, sponsorship, advertising, and other requirements set by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Speaking at the conference, VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú highly appreciated Phú Thọ province’s proactive preparations and called on the Local Organising Committee to continue working closely with the VFF to effectively implement all tasks in line with the agreed schedule. Particular attention should be paid to ensuring requirements related to facilities, security, medical services, transportation, logistics, communications, power supply for live broadcasting, as well as other organisational conditions in accordance with AFC standards, thereby contributing to a safe, professional and successful tournament.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Đào Tiến Cường, Deputy Director of the Phú Thọ Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, agreed with the proposed implementation plan and assigned specific responsibilities to the relevant departments, agencies and units. He emphasised the need for regular and close coordination between the Local Organising Committee and the VFF to promptly address any arising issues, ensuring that preparations are carried out in a coordinated manner, fully meeting AFC requirements and contributing to the successful organisation of Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
According to the plan, Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers will take place from 31 August to 6 September 2026 at Việt Trì Stadium in Phú Thọ, featuring four U20 national teams: Vietnam, Iran, DPR Korea and Palestine. Vietnam U20 will face DPR Korea on 31 August, Palestine on 3 September and Iran on 6 September.
