A two-day AFC-FA (Football Association) Learning Seminar was inaugurated by AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam on Sunday here at the AFC House.

The Generic Tutor Training course is being conducted by experienced FA Lead Tutors Les Howie and Jamie Houchen and is an intensive experience for those responsible for the formal development of other adults.

“I am delighted to welcome back once again the experts from the Football Association to conduct the FA Learning Course,⬝ Bin Hammam said in his opening speech. SThis concept is a key part of our education programme in training our coaching and refereeing instructors to be better teachers, and underpins the AFC’s philosophy of training the trainers.⬝

⬝Every year, our education programme goes from strength to strength, the benefits of which will be felt in each of our member associations,” added the AFC chief.

The course is designed to provide an understanding of modern learning techniques and their application in training situations and the aim of the programme is to familiarise the participants with the philosophy, theory and principles of modern learning so they will be able to use this in the design and delivery of their own development programmes.

The course participants have been drawn from the length and breadth of Asia and include AFC coaching instructors (10), AFC goalkeeping instructors (eight), AFC conditioning instructors (seven), AFC futsal instructors (six), AFC refereeing instructors (11), AFC futsal refereeing instructors (five), AFC women refereeing instructors (three) and observers (six).
