The AFC Executive Committee has decided to forward the case of the Bangladesh national team coach, Diego Cruciani’s alleged assault on the referee during his team’s AFC Asian Cup 2007 pre-qualifying match against Pakistan to FIFA.

The AFC Disciplinary Committee members will be in Kuala Lumpur on February 27 and 28 for a seminar together with the AFC Appeals Committee. However, to expedite the issue, it was decided to forward it to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.

Immediately after their first leg match on December 22, 2005, in Dhaka which ended in a goalless draw, Cruciani went to Indian referee Rizwan Ul-Haq and attempted to assault him but was restrained by the Bangladesh team manager.

Expressing remorse over his act, the Argentinian has already given his consent to submit his case to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
