In the first minutes of the match, the girls of coach Mai Duc Chung had some problems by the pressure from the opponent. In the 5th minute, Myanmar took a free kick from the middle of the field, surprising the Vietnamese defense. Fortunately, center-back Thu Thuong promptly hit the head to neutralize the danger. However, 10 minutes later, the net of the Vietnamese women’s team still had to shake. From Marlar Tun’s corner, the ball touched Hoang Thi Loan and came to San Thaw Zaw’s position. The player’s first shot did not win against Khong Thi Hang, but the next shot, the Myanmar women’s player got the opening goal.

After this goal, the Vietnamese women’s team tried to raise the tempo to avoid a bad scenario similar to the match against the Philippines in the semi-finals. However, in front of Myanmar’s well-organized two-layer defense, the Vietnamese women’s team faced many difficulties in getting the ball into the penalty area.

It was not until the 24th minute that the balance was established. Thuy Trang’s finishing effort made goalkeeper May Zin New unable to catch it. The ball bounced in the embarrassment of the Myanmar women’s defense. Immediately, Huynh Nhu took the opportunity to equalize for the home team. With an equalizer, the Vietnamese women’s team played more confidently and comfortably. Then in the 40th minute, Huynh Nhu scored a double for the home team.

The captain of the Vietnamese women’s team received a long pass from her teammates and then went alone in the middle of the Myanmar defence. Then, she finished the technique to put the ball into the far corner, helping the Vietnamese women’s team take the lead.

In the second half, Rizal Memorial field witnessed two rains. One is the heavy rain that directly affects the play of the Vietnamese women’s team against the Myanmar women’s team. Second, the chase for the score between two teams created a “rain of goals”.

In the 58th minute, Myanmar Team equalized 2-2. The ball bounces off the Vietnamese women’s team after a pass from the right wing of the Myanmar women’s team. Taking advantage of the awkwardness of the Vietnamese women’s defenders, San Thaw Thaw rushed in and finished the equalizer for the home team. From the 62nd minute onwards, coach Mai Duc Chung continuously changed players for the Vietnamese women’s team. The personnel adjustments were both effective and unintentionally created undesirable things for the white shirt team.

In the 81st minute, the Vietnamese women’s team raised the score to 3-2. Huynh Nhu took advantage of the time when the Myanmar goalkeeper and defender did not coordinate well and made an assist for Hai Yen to score. Thinking that the Vietnamese women’s team would have a 3-2 final victory, suddenly in the 84th minute, the Myanmar women’s team once again equalized. The goalkeeper entered the field as a substitute, Kim Thanh caught without the ball, inadvertently creating conditions for Lin Mynt Mo on the Myanmar side to overcome Hoang Thi Loan’s block, crossing the finish line to equalize 3-3. Not stopping there, in the 87th minute, Kim Thanh continued to handle poorly. Immediately, San Thaw Thaw took advantage of the opportunity to raise the score to 4-3.

This is also the final result of the match. The bad weather in the second half and the lack of concentration of the defense made the Vietnamese women’s team unfortunately lose 3-4 to Myanmar, thereby finishing fourth.
