Like the previous match, coach Mai Duc Chung still kept captain Huynh Nhu on the bench. Only one point different, Tuyet Dung was in the starting list. The presence of the midfielder number 7 helped the Vietnamese women’s team soon create pressure against Laos. In the 4th minute, Tuyet Dung took a free kick on the right. She put the ball into the goal area for Chau Thi Vang. Unfortunately, the headshot of the “hot-girl” surnamed Chau was not dangerous enough to beat the Laos goalkeeper.

8 minutes later, Tuyet Dung again made a cross on the left, making the Lao defense flinch. Unfortunately, no player on the Vietnamese side took advantage of the opportunity to score. The pressure continues to be maintained by the Vietnamese women’s team. In the 13th minute, Hoang Quynh received the ball from a teammate’s long pass. She did not tidy up before turning to finish. Hoang Quynh’s shot sent the ball over the bar.

In the 14th minute, My Anh coordinated little touch with Tuyet Dung on the left wing before crossing the ball inside. Tran Thi Thu Thao cushioned the ball close to the wall, causing the opponent’s defender to head to break the ball right in front of the goal line. In the 19th minute, Chau Thi Vang had the ball in the penalty area in a comfortable position. Unfortunately, the ball went out again.

Faced with that situation, the Vietnamese women’s team decided to substitute. Huynh Nhu and Thanh Nha were brought on to replace Chau Thi Vang and Tran Thi Thu Thao to maximize opportunities. Indeed, since Huynh Nhu entered the field, the Vietnamese women’s team made many long passes over the line, bringing the ball into the opponent’s penalty area. However, what the Vietnamese women’s team needs was a goal that has not yet come.

It was not until the 42nd minute that the perseverance of the Vietnamese women’s team successed. Hoang Quynh finished one-touch in the penalty area from My Anh’s left wing pass, thereby bringing the opening goal for the Vietnamese women’s team.

In the first minute of addition time of the first half, the Vietnamese women’s team doubled the gap with Huynh Nhu’s header.

In the second half, the Vietnamese women’s team continued to maintain pressure on the Laos women’s team. In the 57th minute, Hai Yen raised the score to 3-0 for the Vietnamese women’s team. In the 65th minute, Hai Yen completed her double with a technical header. Not stopping there, in the 72nd minute, Huynh Nhu scored after a beautiful free kick. This result helps the Vietnamese women’s team rise to second place in Group B after 2 matches. Because despite having the same 6 points as Myanmar, the Vietnamese women’s team is inferior in goal difference (+8 versus +10).

On July 11, the Vietnamese women’s team will meet the women’s team Timor Leste in the third match.
