Vietnam pick up first win at ASEAN Futsal Women’s; Thailand crush Philippines
MANILA (17 November 2024) – Vietnam picked up their first win in the ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship 2024 when they bested Myanmar 5-2 as Thailand crushed host Philippines 7-0 at the Philsports Arena.
Group A: Vietnam advance despite Thailand defeat
Bangkok: Thailand defeated Vietnam 2-1 to top Group A of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Thailand™ 2024 at the Hua Mark Arena on Sunday. The defeat, however, did not prevent Vietnam from also advancing as they finished second ahead of Myanmar on goal difference with both teams tied on four points.

Japan beat Vietnam 2-0 to book their place in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 quarter-finals on Sunday. Japan finished as the Group D winners while Vietnam, despite the defeat, also advanced as they pipped Saudi Arabia to the runners-up spot, with all three teams finishing on six points.
