M.H.Haiphong fight back to win Super Cup

Two goals by Dang Van Thanh and Julien helped hosts Mitsustar Haier Hai Phong fight back to lift the Super Cup, beating Dong Tam Long An 2-1 on January 1.

The hosts, who lost to their visitors in the final of the national cup, surprised Dong Tam Long, V-League and national cup champions, with their good pace, creating some scoring opportunities in the ninth and 13th minutes. Dong Tam Long An, who were missing sidelined Minh Phuong, stood firm at half time.

In the 48th minute, Van Hung fired home the opener on the left edge of the box. However, ten minutes later the home side levelled the score. Van Thanh shot past goalkeeper Santos after a through ball from Abdalaa. In the 83rd minute, Julien finished off Dao The Phong, sealing a 2-1 victory for the hosts.
