Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Workshop on Legal Framework and Player Status

The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF President; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi – Standing Member of the Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the VFF Player Status Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – VFF General Secretary; Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – VFF Deputy General Secretary; FIFA experts; alongside representatives from the VFF Player Status Committee, Dispute Resolution Committee, and functional departments of VFF.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan commended the serious and responsible participation of all delegates, participants, and experts throughout the two-day event. The President emphasized that updating and enhancing knowledge regarding legal matters and player status is of paramount importance to the professionalization and international integration of Vietnamese football. In particular, not only professional clubs but also non-professional entities must progressively standardize their management, as mastering and adhering to regulations are key factors in protecting the rights of clubs, players, and relevant stakeholders, while minimizing potential disputes and infractions.

President Tran Quoc Tuan stated that the VFF Standing Committee and Executive Committee consistently prioritize disseminating and updating legal knowledge for clubs and member entities, thereby assisting them in better meeting requirements when participating in domestic and international competitions. In parallel, VFF is actively promoting technological application and synchronizing management processes through the FIFA Connect system integrated with national digital identification, contributing to higher transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in player registration and management.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan also highlighted the necessity of raising awareness among club leadership regarding investment efficiency and building a professional, healthy, and structured football environment. The progress made by Vietnamese clubs on the continental stage—including Hanoi Police FC securing a place in the AFC Champions League Elite—is expected to serve as a strong impetus for Vietnamese football to continuously enhance its management quality, governance, and competitive capability. Simultaneously, VFF acknowledges and deeply appreciates FIFA’s valuable partnership and technical support, which further strengthen connectivity and propel the international integration of Vietnamese football.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan extended his best wishes for clubs to continue promoting professionalism, proactively updating and complying with legal regulations, thereby upgrading their organizational governance and operations. The President expressed his expectation that clubs will continue to develop stably, achieve positive results in domestic and international tournaments, and contribute to the overall growth of Vietnamese football. Furthermore, President Tran Quoc Tuan wished good health and success to all experts, delegates, and participants, hoping that the knowledge and practical experience shared during the workshop will be effectively implemented in their respective daily operations.

During the two-day workshop, discussions centered on major issues surrounding legal frameworks and player status. Experts provided updated insights into the legal overview and player status in football, highlighted key updates in the Vietnam Football Regulations, and offered an overview of FIFA Connect – the national online registration system—along with various other practical specialized topics.

Through this workshop, VFF aims to continuously elevate awareness and professional capacity across clubs and member entities regarding compliance with national and international football regulations. Concurrently, VFF seeks to reinforce transparency and professionalism in player management and club operations, contributing to a sustainably developed and deeply integrated football ecosystem in Vietnam.
