As in the first friendly match against Ulsan Citizen, Coach Kim Sang Sik continued to divide the Vietnam national team into two squads, with each playing one half of the match. The difference this time was that the Korean coach made more substitutions, allowing as many players as possible to get playing time.

In the first half, Daegu FC played better and applied considerable pressure on the Vietnam national team’s half. However, their attacks were not strong enough to break through the defensive system set up by Coach Kim Sang Sik’s players.

Meanwhile, although having less possession, the Vietnam national team created more clear-cut chances than their opponents. Unfortunately, their finishing was not sharp enough to find the back of the net. It wasn’t until the 41st minute that Vietnam took the lead, with Quang Hải receiving a pass from Bùi Tiến Dũng following a corner kick on the left wing. He then struck a low, precise shot to beat the opposing goalkeeper.

In the second half, the Vietnam national team played more dominant football with a lineup that included players in excellent form, such as Tiến Linh, Hoàng Đức, and Hai Long. In the 48th minute, Vietnam had a great opportunity to score, but Tiến Linh was unable to beat the opposing goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation. Shortly after, Thành Chung, while joining an attacking move, rose high to head the ball powerfully, but the crossbar denied him a goal.

In the 82nd minute, the Vietnam national team capitalized on their dominance by extending the lead to 2-0. The goal came from a fast dribble by Vĩ Hào on the right wing, whose powerful cross into the center forced the Daegu FC goalkeeper to make a save. However, Hai Long was in the right place at the right time, heading the ball into the net to give Vietnam a two-goal advantage over the K.League-1 side.

The match ended with a 2-0 victory for the Vietnam national team. Given that it was a friendly, Coach Kim Sang Sik was able to gather valuable information and data about his players. The Korean coach also succeeded in his personnel experiments by giving nearly all the players the opportunity to play in the match.
