Kyrgyzstan hosts the Group I AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifier instead of China Taipei
According to the latest update of AFC, the matches in Group I AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 will be organised in Kyrgyzstan instead of China Taipei as the previous plan.
Before that, China Taipei got the right to organise group I, however, after concerns about the issues on the organisation and COVID-19 pandemic prevention in China Taipei decided to withdraw the host of this phase.
This is the 2nd change in the group of U23 Vietnam. Last July, AFC had to draw again because of the withdraw of DPR Korea.
With the changing of the host, the schedule also has to adjust. Therefore, U23 Vietnam will face China Taipei on Oct 27 and Myanmar on Nov 02. All matches of group I will take place at Dolon Omurzakov Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
To prepare for this competition, U23 Vietnam is gathering at Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre, same time as the gathering period of the Vietnam National team. As the plan, the team will have a training camp from Oct 08 in UAE and one friendly match there before moving to Kyrgyzstan.
