The 2023 National Cup and V.League 2 Golden Star Beer 2023 drawing
On the afternoon of February 22, the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) conducted a draw to schedule the 2023 National Cup and the 2023 V.League 2 Golden Star Beer.

* National Cup 2023 is expected to start from April 1
25 clubs including 14 clubs from V.League 1 and 11 clubs participating in V.League 2 will compete in a one-loss knockout format. After 90 minutes of each match, if draw, a penalty shootout will be played to determine the winning club; The two teams that won the semi-finals will be able to play the final match, the two teams that have lost the semi-finals will be awarded the third prize.
The prize for the Champion team is 2 billion VND, Cup and Gold medal; the runner-up will be awarded 1 billion VND and a silver medal; Third place bronze: 400 million VND and bronze medal.

Participating in the tournament were 11 clubs: Ba Ria Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Hoa Binh, Hue, Long An, PVF-CAND, Phu Dong, Phu Tho, Quang Nam, Saigon.
The tournament starts on April 7 until August 2023. Clubs are allowed to register 01 Vietnamese player of foreign origin and 01 foreign player of Vietnamese origin.
Similar to the Night Wolf V.League 1-2023, in order to ensure the organization time, Gold Star V.League 2-2023 also applies the competition method in two stages:
– Phase 1: 11 clubs compete in a round-robin format for scoring and ranking. Based on the rankings of the clubs after the end of phase 1 to divide into group A and B;
– Phase 2:
+ Group A consists of 5 clubs, competing in a round-robin format to calculate points, rank, determine the champion club (win promotion, move to the national championship 2023-2024), the second place club and the third place club.
+ Group B: Consists of 6 clubs, playing in a round-robin for one round to calculate points, rank, determine 01 club ranked 11th will have to compete in the National 2nd Division Football Championship in 2024.
The number of club points achieved in Phase 1 will be calculated into the total score of the club’s ranking when playing in Phase 2 and the overall ranking of the tournament for both Group A and Group B.
Prizes at the V.League 2 Gold Star Beer 2023 doubled compared to the 2022 season.
