Vietnam National Team climbs three places in the latest FIFA Rankings
According to the latest FIFA Rankings released on December 22, the Vietnam national team climbed three places to 107th in the world and 19th in Asia. Notably, Vietnam recorded the biggest rise among all national teams in this ranking update.
Compared to the previous release, the Vietnam national team’s ranking has shown clear improvement, reflecting positive results achieved in recent matches. In particular, the 2–0 victory over Laos in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers earned Vietnam important additional points in the FIFA rankings.
The three-place rise not only helps Vietnam consolidate its position within Asia but also creates a favorable foundation for upcoming objectives on the international stage. At present, Vietnam remains among the teams with a stable standing on the continent.
In Asia, the top three teams in this latest FIFA ranking remain unchanged, namely Japan (18th in the world), Iran (20th), and South Korea (22nd).
This new ranking serves as recognition of the team’s collective efforts in competition and professional preparation, while also bringing optimism to Vietnamese football fans ahead of the journey to come.
