Vietnam team arrive in Chonburi ahead of ASEAN Championship 2026

Following their journey from Hanoi to Bangkok and a subsequent bus transfer to Chonburi, the Vietnam national team have arrived at the tournament venue, settled into their accommodation, and are ready to begin their final preparations ahead of their opening match at the ASEAN Championship 2026.

VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu is serving as Head of Delegation for the Vietnam national team at the ASEAN Championship 2026.

On the morning of July 20, head coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad departed from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi aboard a Vietnam Airlines flight, which took off at 12:45 p.m. The team arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok as scheduled before continuing their journey by bus to Chonburi.

Travelling with the squad as Head of Delegation, VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu will oversee and support the team’s campaign throughout the tournament.

Upon arriving in Chonburi, the Vietnam national team quickly settled into their accommodation and focused on recovering from the journey. The players remained in high spirits and fully concentrated on their opening fixture against Timor-Leste.

According to the team’s schedule, Vietnam will hold their first training session in Chonburi on the afternoon of July 21. The session will mark the squad’s first workout on Thai soil and provide the coaching staff with another opportunity to fine-tune the team’s preparations ahead of the opening match against Timor-Leste on July 24.

The match against Timor-Leste will be Vietnam’s first away fixture in the group stage of the ASEAN Championship 2026. Following the opener, Kim Sang Sik’s side will host Singapore on July 31, travel to face Indonesia on August 3, and conclude their group-stage campaign with a home match against Cambodia on August 7.
