U23 Vietnam team is present in Tajikistan
After a long flight with one transit in Dubai, the U23 Vietnam team arrived in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) early morning of March 18 (Vietnam time).
This is a training trip and friendly competition of the U23 Vietnam team to prepare for the 2024 U23 Asian Cup which will take place in Qatar next April. During this training trip, the U23 Vietnam will play two friendly matches with the U23 Tajikstan on March 20 and March 23, respectively. Both matches were held at Republic Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The weather in Dushanbe is currently not too cold, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. However, to ensure the health of the players, VFF has also carefully prepared the team.
In Dushanbe, the U23 Vietnam team was arranged accommodation by the host country’s organizers at Atlas Hotel, located about 15 minutes by bus from the airport and less than 10 km from the stadium.
After settling down at Dushanbe, in the afternoon the team entered their first practice session. Because head coach Philippe Troussier is on duty to lead the Vietnam team to play two matches against Indonesia in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers (first leg on March 21 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, second leg on March 26 at the My Dinh National Stadium), so Assistant Coach Moulay Lahsen was assigned to take charge of the U23 Vietnam team during training and competition in Tajikistan. Accompanying Assistant Moulay Lahsen are Assistant Coach Truong Dinh Luat, goalkeeper coach Ngo Viet Trung, analyst Le Minh Dung, medical department, and logistics department.
