Friendly match U23 Vietnam 1-1 U20 Korea: An useful practice for SEA Games 31
U23 Vietnam had a useful “rehearsal” with a series of matches against the quality opponent as U20 Korea, in a friendly match at Viet Tri Stadium on the evening of April 19.
In order to review and evaluate the force to prepare for the 31st SEA Games, head coach Park Hang Seo launched the starting lineup with most of the players who have not had many opportunities to try in the main list. Hung Dung, Hoang Duc, and Tien Linh were not even included in the registration list, while other notable players such as Hoang Anh, Trong Long, Xuan Quyet, Manh Dung, Quang Nho … were all sitting on the bench.
With this experimental formation, U23 Vietnam did not start very well and did not show confidence in controlling the ball.
Meanwhile, the Korean U20 has a simple but effective playing style. In the 15th minute, after a corner kick on the left, Lee Young Jun opened the scoring after a header in the penalty area. However, only 2 minutes later, U23 Vietnam was awarded a penalty. Vi Hao jumped up quickly and the opposing defender fouled him. On the 11m mark, Van Toi equalized 1-1 for U23 Vietnam.
In the second half, U23 Vietnam and U20 Korea continued to have a series of changes. head coach Park Hang Seo’s team created a few scoring opportunities but unfortunately missed them. In the 59th minute, Thanh Binh finished in the penalty area but couldn’t make a goal.
The match ended with a score of 1-1 and both sides had reasons to be pleased when leaving the field.
