After arriving in Bangkok, the team had their first training in the afternoon. Coach Alfred Riedl gave his men a light training session for helping them recover their strength.

They have another training at the Thailand National Stadium on January 27 before their match with Thailand on January 28.

The Thai hosts had a light training session. Speaking about the second leg match, coach Charnwit and skipper Kiatisuk seemed cautious, saying that despite their 2-0 victory in Hanoi, they should concentrate, not letting Vietnamese players upset them.
