Group B: Japan 10-0 Vietnam

The U20 Japan team is very strong, so coach Akira advocates playing a majority defense on the home field. However, this is not enough to make things difficult for the defending champion. They very calmly organized and stretched the U20 Vietnam team to score a goal after only 10 minutes of the opening match. With a well-organized combination, Matsukubo scored a beautiful curling shot, opening the door to a big victory for the home team.

After taking the lead, U20 Japan women continued to dominate. Matsukubo was a sharp trigger in attack, scoring 2 more goals in the first half for the home team. In this first half, U20 Vietnam women mainly defended and could not get the ball. However, Mr. Akira’s students also had a chance in the last minute, but unfortunately Bui Thi Thuong kicked the ball over the bar, in a situation close to the Japanese U20 women’s goal.

In the second half, although the Vietnamese women’s U20s were very persistent, they could not prevent the opponent’s organized attacks. In that match, Japanese U20 women scored 7 more goals to win the final match with a strong score of 10-0. On March 7, the Vietnamese U20 women’s team will meet the current runner-up – North Korea.
