U20 Vietnam Women’s team is ready for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2024 2nd Qualifier

U20 Vietnam Women’s team has the good preparation for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2024 2nd Qualifier in Viet Trì, Phu Tho

Leading Group F of the first qualifying round of the 2024 AFC U20 Asian Cup, Bao Tram and her teammates qualified to the second qualifying round. According to the draw results, the U20 Vietnam women’s team was in Group A with Australia, Iran and Lebanon. Meanwhile, Group B includes 4 names: China, Myanmar, Nepal and Chinese Taipei.

In May, the U20 Vietnam women’s team had a training trip to Japan. Coach Akira Ijiri’s team had 3 matches with Seisa Academy, JFA Fukusima Academy and Tokyo High School with the results of 2 matches losing 0-3 and a strong win 8-1, respectively. This is a valuable experience, helping young players make great professional progress.

Talking about the preparation process and towards the second qualifying round, coach Akira Ijiri said: “The first two matches, our opponents are teams with good coordination, in which, JFA Fukusima Academy is a team with a high level of technique, speed, strength… It’s a good opportunity for players to practice their defense. The opponents in this group are all strong opponents. Up to now, the Australia women’s team is the strongest, but Iran and Lebanon in recent years have also been very strong. It’s going to be a pretty tough qualifier.”

According to the plan, after finishing the training period at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the U20 Vietname women’s team will be present in Phu Tho to practice and get acquainted with the field from May 28. Team of head coach Akira Ijiri will have an incense offering activity at Hung King’s Temple (Phu Tho) on the morning of May 29.

Regarding the schedule for the away teams, the U20 Australia women’s team will be the first visiting team to be present in Vietnam on May 27 with a short training session at PVF Center, before moving to Viet Tri (Phu Tho) on June 1 to officially participate in the tournament. The members of the referee team, match commissioners, the two away teams of U20 Iran and Lebanon women’s team will respectively come to Vietnam from May 31.

The LOC will hold a press conference on the morning of June 2 at Saigon Phu Tho Hotel (Viet Tri City, Phu Tho). According to the schedule, the home team of U20 Vietnam women’s team will meet Iran, Lebanon and Australia teams respectively on June 3, June 5 and June 7 at 19:00. Matches taking place at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho province do not organize ticket sales so that fans can more conveniently go to the stadium to watch and cheer for the teams, especially the host U20 Vietnam. In addition, all matches in Group A will also be broadcast live on Youtube VFF Channel.
