“Women’s national team has been gathering for one month. I have a very good assessment of the physical condition of the players. The team had 2 friendly matches with U15 Men’s Hanoi and U15 Men’s PVF with the score were 2-1 and 0-5.  We don’t evaluate the score, we focus on the performance of players. In general, the opponent has a good physical strength equal to Japan and Korean teams. The players reached some requirements, however, still had some mistakes need to adjust. We will practice more while moving to Spain. The preparation is completing 90%. Other things, the coaching assistants will continue to adjust and find the most suitable tactics”, head coach Mai Duc Chung said.

As the plan, the team will travel to Spain on Dec 26. The shortlist will be announced tomorrow, after the friendly match with American Embassy. Head coach Mai Duc Chung shared that: “This time, we focus on youth players to prepare for SEA Games 31 next year. The players who are chosen meet the requirements of coaching assistants. Some players are called to adapt with the environment in the national team”.

To have favorable conditions for the team, VFF has afforded to plan a training camp from 26 Dec 2021 to 15 Jan 2022 in Spain with 4 friendly matches.

“Training in Spain and playing with overseas opponents is the condition for the coaching assistants to evaluate the performance of the players. I will increase the level of sessions in Spain. We also have the plan to face strong opponents in the upcoming competition”.

“The 2018 season and this year, we all stand in a difficult group. This time, our group has Japan and Korea, as well as Myanmar. Therefore, we need to set a specific target for each match. The opportunity is for all teams. I think both teams have to try hard and we need to determine more and more. I believe with the support of VFF and authorities, we will have a successful overseas training camp and good preparation for the competition”.
