Head coach Park Hang-seo set the goal to keep going at World Cup 2022 Qualifier
At the interview with the press on 18th Aug at VFF office, head coach Park Hang-seo emphasized the goal to keep going at World Cup 2022 Qualifier.
The tournaments including AFF Cup and World Cup Qualifier delay to next year, therefore head coach Park Hang-seo will face a jam-schedule including 30 matches of the U22 team and national team. In which, there can be names 4 huge tournaments are AFF Cup, World Cup Qualifier, U23 Asia Qualifier, and SEA Games.
Talk about it, head coach Park Hang-seo said: “I want to focus on the 2nd qualifying round of World Cup because Vietnam has never done it before. Besides that, at the end of 2021, if everything good, Vietnam will have the matches at the last qualifying round of the World Cup. In addition, as we have known, AFF Cup plans to hold on April 2021. We are the defending champion so need to play well.
About the U22 team, we got the gold medal at SEA Games. Therefore in the next SEA Games, we all need to play at a high level. I’m in charge of both team Vietnam National team and U22 Vietnam. With such many tournaments like that, the time is limited. However, I believed that step by step, without effort, we can do it. I will try to do well in all 4 tournaments”.
Besides that, head coach Park also worries about V.League. “We have too many tournaments, not only international tournaments but also V.League. I hope that VFF and VPF will adjust a suitable schedule to support for the national team”.
