Hosts Khanh Hoa join PVFC Song Lam Nghe An in last four

Hosts Khatoco Khanh Hoa joined PVFC Song Lam Nghe An in the last four of the national under-21 football tournament, sponsored by Thanh Nien newspaper.

Khatoco Khanh Hoa beat PVFC Song Lam Nghe An 2-1 to edge past Dong Tam Long An to win the second ticket to the next round with PVFC Song Lam Nghe An.

In an earlier match, Dong Tam Long An and Da Nang shared the spoils, which saw Dong Tam Long An lose the ground to Khatoco Khanh Hoa.

PVFC Song Lam Nghe An started the game in an aggressive fashion, while Khatoco Khanh Hoa played skipper Quang Hai as their only frontman.

PVFC Song Lam Nghe An came close to opening the scoring after 24 minutes with Van Hoan hitting the cross bar.

Luck still eluded PVFC Song Lam Nghe An as nine minutes later Van Binh was denied by the woodwork again.

Khatoco Khanh Hoa also felt unlucky when Van Thuan shot hit the crossbar, seven minutes before the break.

Two minutes later, the home side”s fans had an opportunity to celebrate as Anh Phung broke the deadlock.

Having created many chances, PVFC Song Lam Nghe An equalised on 77 minutes through Trong Hoang.

One minute from time, Quang Hai sealed a crucial victory for the hosts, successfully converting his spot kick. 

In another match, Dong Tam Long An were held to a 1-1 draw with Da Nang. Ngoc Thong opened the scoring for Da Nang and Minh Tan levelled the score for Dong Tam Long An.

A point from the match could not send Dong Tam Long An and Da Nang through.
