Opening ceremony of the National U19 Women’s Football Championship in 2023

On the afternoon of August 13, at Ha Nam Stadium (Phu Ly City, Ha Nam province) took place the opening ceremony and the first matches of the 2023 National U19 Women’s Football Championship.

Attending the opening ceremony, the Leaders of the VFF had Mr. Do Van Nhat – Member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the VFF’s Women’s Football Committee; Mrs. Dinh Thi Thu Trang – Deputy General Secretary, Chairperson of the organizing committee. Representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ha Nam province, the locality hosting the tournament, attended the opening ceremony with Mr. Ta Dinh Quyen – Deputy Director, Mr. Pham Hai Anh – Director of Ha Nam Training and Competition Center, and representatives of press agencies and a large number of fans in Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province.

At the beginning of the speech announcing the opening of the tournament, on behalf of the organizers, Mrs. Dinh Thi Thu Trang – VFF Deputy General Secretary expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased members and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club. Returning to the 2023 National Women’s U19 Championship, Mrs. Dinh Thi Thu Trang emphasized: “The National U19 Women’s Football Championship, formerly known as the 18-year-old football tournament, has confirmed over 15 years of development, to be an important tournament in the national youth football competition system and is increasingly improving in terms of expertise as well as dedication. Also from this tournament, many talented young female players were selected to supplement the national women’s team. With the preparation and determination of the teams, the VFF believes that the 2023 Women’s National U19 Championship will take place with dedicated, high-quality matches, creating an exciting competition with the spirit of fair-play. On behalf of the tournament organizers, we would like to thank the active support of the People’s Committee of Ha Nam province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Nam province and relevant agencies in the preparation and organization of the National U19 Women’s Football Championship 2023. Sincerely thank the fans and press agencies for the support and encouragement for the country’s football. Wish the teams and members participating in the tournament complete the task.”

Right after the opening ceremony was the match between U19 PP Ha Nam and U19 Ho Chi Minh City. Previously, Son La U19 drew 1-1 against U19 Than KSVN in the match taking place at 15:30, thereby sharing 1 point.

Players of both teams and the audience made a minute of silence to remember the HAGL club members.

The National U19 Women’s Football Championship 2023 officially kicked off at Ha Nam Stadium, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province with the participation of six teams including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Than KSVN, Thai Nguyen T&T, Son La and host Phong Phu Ha Nam. Matches will be played in a round-robin format with two rounds of scoring and final ranking. The first leg opens on August 13 and ends on August 27, the second leg from August 30 to September 13.
