The 1st meeting of VFF’s club licensing committee in 2024

On the afternoon of April 23, at the headquarters of the VFF, the first meeting in 2024 of the Club Licensing Committee took place. Due to the accompanying the Vietnam Futsal Team to compete in the 2024 Asian Futsal Cup in Thailand, VFF’s Vice President Tran Anh Tu attended the meeting online. Also attending were Assoc. Pham Ngoc Vien – Chairman of VFF’s Club Licensing Committee, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi – VFF’s General Secretary, members of the Club Licensing Committee, the Appeal Body and the Club Licensing Administrative Department.

Speaking at the meeting, VFF’s Vice President Tran Anh Tu emphasized that the task to be carried out at this meeting plays an important role in the licensing work for the 2024/25 season. The VFF’s Vice President asked members to focus on the main and basic contents to produce results close to reality, to help club licensing in the new season take place as planned, and to meet the criteria of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

In the following contents of the meeting, members reviewed the preparations for licensing clubs to participate in the AFC club competitions, the national league for the 2024/25 season; as well as the implementation plan, completing the assessment of criteria before issuing a licensing decision and submitting the list to AFC.

Also at the meeting, members evaluated the Report on the results of implementing the Youth Football Development Program in 2023 of 16 clubs; and reported on the survey and assessment of the current status of the youth football development program of 5 clubs including Dong A Thanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc.

After the discussion and review, the leaders of VFF and the Club Licensing Committee agreed on a plan to implement licensing work in the coming time, directing the Club Licensing Administrative Department to issue licenses to work with some clubs, urgently resolve remaining issues to complete documents according to regulations before the next meeting of the Club Licensing Committee (May 7, 2024) so that the Committee can have the references to issue a final licensing decision on May 9, 2024.
