The Vietnam Football Federation Partners with the “Young Player 2024” Reality Program
This afternoon (August 21), the Vietnam Football Federation and LOTTE Group signed a partnership agreement to develop the “Young Player” reality program for 2024. The goal of this collaboration is to nurture young football talent in Vietnam and contribute to the overall growth of Vietnamese football.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyễn Danh Hoàng Việt – Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – President of the Vietnam Football Federation; Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Vũ – Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation; and Mr. LEE KAP – Director of Communications at LOTTE Group.
Established in 2011, and after 12 years of successfully discovering and nurturing Vietnamese football talents, the “Young Player” (Young Footballers) program has become a prominent and reputable platform for children passionate about football and eager to develop professional organizational skills. Beyond being an entertainment program, “Young Player” delivers a strong message about sportsmanship to young people in their formative years.
With the goal of identifying, discovering, nurturing, and training young football talent to contribute to the development of Vietnamese youth football, “Young Player” is officially back, marking the beginning of a completely new version.
In his speech at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng – Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized that in recent years, South Korea has been one of the leading countries investing in Vietnam, with a primary focus on culture. The mutual understanding and cultural similarities have greatly contributed to successful collaborations, with South Korean economic groups playing a significant role in these achievements. Notably, the Lotte Group has been one of the earliest investors in Vietnam, which is highly commendable. Specifically, in the field of sports, the group has invested in and supported the “Young Player” program through the Vietnam Football Federation and Vietnam Television.
Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng praised Lotte’s investment in this program as a very wise choice, as today’s children are the future of tomorrow. The Vietnamese Party, State, and Government consistently prioritize the youth, providing various resources to contribute to their comprehensive development. To achieve this, it requires not only social resources but also the involvement of large domestic and international corporations. Lotte’s decision to support the training of young footballers is a highly meaningful contribution, helping to advance the development of Vietnamese football significantly.
In this version, there is an intensive training journey under the special guidance of professional coaches from South Korea, such as Lee Young Pyo – a former member of the South Korean national football team, who has played for PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham Hotspur. The program also features appearances by prominent Vietnamese footballers, including Bùi Tiến Dũng, Hồ Tuấn Tài, Nhâm Mạnh Dũng, Dụng Quang Nho, and Châu Ngọc Quang.
Throughout their participation in the program, the children will have the opportunity to interact with youth football teams in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. They will also take part in skill assessments at Viettel Sports Club and have opportunities to stay at the club to join football skill training courses.
During the event, a “Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony for the Development of the Young Player Program” took place between Mr. Nguyễn Minh Châu – Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation, and Mr. Lee Kap – Director of Communications at LOTTE Group. The two parties agreed on the objective of collaborating to organize the “Young Player” program for 2024, with the aim of developing young football talent in Vietnam and contributing to the overall growth of Vietnamese football.
With over 12 years of positive contributions to Vietnamese football, LOTTE Group is collaborating with the Vietnam Football Federation this year on the Young Player program to continue the journey of discovering young football talent. This reality program will provide opportunities for young football talents to enhance their chances of becoming professional players in the future while contributing to the development of Vietnamese football.
In the same program, to recognize LOTTE Group’s positive contributions towards the development of youth football in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, and Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, presented a certificate of appreciation to the Director of Communications at LOTTE Group.
