The Vietnam national team has arrived in Singapore, preparing for the first leg of the semifinals
After a flight of more than 3 hours from Hanoi, on the afternoon of December 23, the Vietnam national team arrived in Singapore to prepare for the first leg of the semifinals against the host team Singapore, as part of the 2024 ASEAN Football Championship.
At Changi International Airport, the team did not take long to go through immigration thanks to the automated contactless border control system implemented by the host country. Prior to that, the entire team had proactively completed the online immigration declaration in English through the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority website, which made the customs clearance process very smooth.
Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, along with some Vietnamese fans in Singapore, went to the airport to welcome the team and present flowers. The presence, support, and enthusiastic encouragement from the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and the Vietnamese community have provided extra motivation for Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players ahead of the upcoming important match.
Team captain Đỗ Duy Mạnh shared, “The whole team is very happy to receive such a warm welcome from the Embassy and the Vietnamese community when we arrived in Singapore. This is a great source of motivation for the entire team. We will do our best to achieve the best possible result in the upcoming match and bring pride to our fans.”
Tonight, after settling into their accommodation, the Vietnam national team will have their first training session in Singapore to familiarize themselves with the weather conditions and the pitch. Currently, Singapore is experiencing light rain, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 30°C.
