Quang Ninh Coal finished top the first stage of the national football division 1 with a 1-0 victory over Military Region Five.

The victory helped Quang Ninh Coal go three points clear of The Cong Viettel who were out-of-sort and luckily earned point from their home match against An Giang.
Elsewhere in Quang Nam, Da My Nghe Saigon continued their free fall, crushing to defeat 5-2 against Thanh Nghia Quang Ngai.
The defeat left Da My Nghe Saigon in difficulties, finishing the first stage at bottom of the division.
Quang Ninh Coal, who surprisingly went down 2-0 to Military Region Four in week 12, started their game with another military opponent, Military Region Five, aggressively, determined to win the division”s first stage.
However, they had to wait until the second half to earn a full three points. Goalkeeper Van Luc fumbled after Samson Kayode”s finish, helping Quang Ninh Coal finish top of the table.
The victory helped Quang Ninh Coal three points clear of The Cong Viettel, who were lucky to avoid a home defeat to An Giang.
A late equaliser by skipper Dang Phuong Nam helped The Cong Viettel earn a point and remain second in the table.

Despite playing at home, out-of-sort The Cong Viettel failed to earn a victory over An Giang who are not good on the road.
By contrasts, it was An Giang who dominated the game, in which they deserved to win. After the first half ended 0-0, An Giang started the second very well and they opened the scoring by Nhat Truong.
After the goal, An Giang created many other opportunities but their skipper Issawa Singtong failed to find the net.
The Cong Viettel equalised the score in the fourth minute of stoppage time with skipper Phuong Nam heading home from close range after an An Giang defender”s headed clear fell onto his head.
In Quang Ngai, Da My Nghe Saigon continued their slip, going down 5-2 to their hosts Thanh Nghia Quang Ngai.
Francisco opened the scoring for the hosts after 28 minutes. Anh Thoai doubled the lead ten minutes later.
Two minutes from half-time, Dung Chinh broke the offside trap to pull a goal back.
Ten minutes into the second half, Thanh Toan restored a two goal lead for the hosts. Anh Tuan and Xuan Dung scored two more goals for Thanh Nghia Quang Ngai while Anh Tuan, who missed a penalty kick, scored the second goal for Da My Nghe Saigon.
