Despite exiting the event, the Japanese club lined up their Brazilian players, while Da Nang had six reserve players.

In the 21st minute, Fernandinho opened the scoring. The Japanese visitors scored two more goals in the first half by Magno Alves and Fernandinho in the 35th and 45th minutes, respectively.

Hosts Da Nang created some opportunities but failed to score. One minute from half-time, Quang Tuan failed to find the net after collecting the deflected ball from a Japanese defender.

In the second half, the Vietnamese side scored a consolation goal in the 71st minute by centreback Manh Dung from a spot kick after Futagawa”s handball.

However, Futagawa made it 4-0 after two attempts in the 53rd minute. Yamaguchi broke the offside trap to seal a 5-1 victory for the visitors.
