U22 Vietnam accepts the invitation to participate in the 2023 Panda Cup international tournament in China
At the invitation of the Chinese Football Assiciation, the Vietnam Football Federation has decided to send the U22 Vietnam to attend the 2023 Panda Cup international tournament, to be held in Chengdu, China next June.
This is a tournament for youth football that has been held annually since 2014. After being interrupted for 2 years by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the Panda Cup is restarted with the participation of 4 U22 teams include hosts China, Bahrain, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
With the above-mentioned high-quality participants, the 2023 Panda Cup is considered a very useful rehearsal for the U22 Vietnam in the preparation for the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifier and the Asiad 19 in September 2023.
According to the plan, the Panda Cup 2023 will be held in June, with the expected competition dates being June 14-16-18, 2023. This tournament also marked the first time after 4 years that U22 Vietnam returned to China. Previously, in September 2019, U22 Vietnam had a friendly match with China U22 in Wuhan and won 2-0. Tien Linh is the player who scored a brace against opponent net.
