U23 Vietnam practiced for the first training in Bangkok, planning the personnel plan for the “test” match with U23 Bahrain
On the afternoon of August 14, the U23 Vietnam had the first training session in Bangkok. This is also the only training session of coach Hoang Anh Tuan’s team on the training ground of BG Pathum United F.C, where the friendly match against U23 Bahrain will take place tomorrow.
With the force of many new players joining the team after completing the competition for the host club in the V.League 1 and V.League 2, the most important thing is, as shared by coach Hoang Anh Tuan, that is to test and evaluate the performance and rhythm of these players with the playing style of U23 Vietnam. Therefore, he divided the team into two groups with a harmonious arrangement of personnel in the warm-up contents, deployed the strategy before organizing a confrontation competition on 2/3 of the field.
Due to the match tomorrow, the training session is wrapped up in 90 minutes, but still ensures the professional requirements of the coaching assistants. The good news is that all the players are in good physical condition and there are no injuries.
Tomorrow morning, the coaching assistants and the players will have a professional meeting to prepare for the friendly match against U23 Bahrain. During the training session in Thailand, U23 Bahrain played many friendly matches with Thai clubs. Notably, they also have 2 matches with two teams, U23 Kuwait (draw 0-0) and U23 Thailand (won 2-0). Through playing the opponent, coach Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciates the quality of the West Asian team and hopes that the “test” with this team will help coaching assistants see more clearly the remaining problems in the squad, from which there was a timely adjustment.
The match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Bahrain will kick-off at 18:00 on August 15. Due to the nature of serving the professional work of the two teams, the match will take place without spectators as well as professional activities of the press.
At the end of the match, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will stay one more night in Bangkok. On the morning of August 16, the whole team will move to Rayong – the venue for the 2023 AFF U23 Championship. Here, the U23 Vietnam will have 3 days to prepare for the opening match against U23 Laos.
