U23 Vietnam will have a good preparation forward to the AFC U23 Championship 2022
According to the draw result today Jul 09, U23 Vietnam will start the journey of AFC U23 Championship 2022 Qualifier in group I (East Zone) with Myanmar, Hong Kong, and host Taipei China.

This is a meaningful tournament for the next generation of the national team, therefore VFF always concerns and invests in the U23 team. Since 2016, U23 Vietnam all got over the qualifiers of this tournament to join in the final round. In 2018, U23 Vietnam has a historical achievement when playing in the final match.
As the plan, the qualifier will kick-off from Oct 23 to Oct 31, Group I will play in Taipei, China. VFF Vice President said that Vietnam’s first target is getting over the qualifier to join in the AFC U23 Championship 2022.
To reach this target, the preparation was early planned with the first gathering last June. “From now, U23 Vietnam will have other 2 training periods. VFF and head coach Park Hang-seo accompanied with functional departments to have the best preparation for U23 Vietnam forward to the AFC U23 Championship”.
The 42 teams were drawn into 11 groups with 15 spots available at the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 with Uzbekistan having already confirmed their place as hosts, the first time the tournament will be staged in the Central Zone.
The draw divided the teams into two Regions – the West Region comprising 23 West, South, and Central Participating Teams as well as the East Region, which consists of 19 East and ASEAN Participating Teams.
The teams play each other once at a centralized venue. The 11 group winners and four best second-placed teams (total 15 teams) advance to AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022, which will be played in Uzbekistan between 1 to 19 June 2022.
