Apart from two early matches, Da Nang vs. Southern Steel Saigon Port, and Dong Tam Long An vs. Khatoco Khanh Hoa, on May 13, four other matches of round 16 of the national championship/V-League take place on May 14 and they may be tight games.

PISICO Binh Dinh vs. ACB.HN

Second-placed ACB.HN, who did not play last weekend, will travel to Quy Nhon to meet their hosts PISICO Binh Dinh, who are just behind them in the table. The hosts need to win the match after their defeat to another club from the capital city, Hoa Phat Hanoi, last Sunday. The defeat made home fans angry. However, this will be an uneasy task for the hosts, as their opponents are a team of high quality, who won all awards in April. The match may be tight with few opportunties, so the match may end with a draw.

Verdict: 1-1

Hoa Phat Hanoi vs. Pomina Steel Tien Giang
This will be a relegation battle for both sides. Hoa Phat Hanoi moved out of the danger zone with a victory over PISICO Binh Dinh last Sunday. However, they still need more points to secure their position in the V-League next season. The arrival of Van Vinh and Da Silva after the first stage has helped the club strengthen their midfield and forward. After a victory over PISICO Binh Dinh, who were in the top three teams, Hoa Phat Hanoi have good morale. Coach Vuong Tien Dung will guide his men to play an attacking football.

Meanwhile, the game in Hanoi and other games, may be battles for Pomina Steel Tien Giang, who sacked coach Vu Truong Giang and signed coach Tran Kim Hang. Otherwise, the team will return to Division 1. Despite their underdog status, Pomina Steel Tien Giang may be emerging for a vitory.

In the first stage, Hoa Phat Hanoi lost 2-1 to Pomina Steel Tien Giang. The history may not repeat itself. Hoa Phat Hanoi will have at least one point.

Verdict: 2-1

Mitsustar Haier Haiphong vs. Midako Nam Dinh
Host coach Nguyen Van Dung will have to play against the club, where he reached the peak of his career as a footballer. Also, his former club are often bitter rivals of the hosts. Their previous meetings were often tough.

Midako Nam Dinh are a better side at the moment but Mitsustar Haier Haiphong have an advantage as the hosts.

Midako Nam Dinh will be missing Makram while Mitsustar Haier Haiphong will have no service of Mai Ngoc Quang.

The match may be tight, but the home side may earn at least one point.

Verdict: 1-0

Hoang Anh Gia Lai vs. PJICO Song Lam Nghe An
Hoang Anh Gia Lai seem to have back on track after two consecutive victories since the V-League resumed. They have a good opportunity to extend their winning streak when playing against PJICO Song Lam Nghe An, who are suffering from injuries and suspension.

PJICO Song Lam Nghe An travel to Pleiku without sidelined key players, such as goalkeeper Duong Hong Son, centreback MinhDuc and left-back Lam Tan. They will be missing Huy Hoang due to suspension.

Meanwhile, the home side will line up their strongest squad. It will be a nice surprise if the home side fail to gain three points.

Verdict: 2-0
