VFF launches nationwide youth women’s football talent identification programme

The participants underwent a comprehensive assessment programme covering speed, strength, coordination, ball-handling skills, and small-sided match play. Through this holistic evaluation process, the selection panel was able to identify players with strong development potential and suitability for long-term training programmes.

According to the plan, candidates who successfully pass the regional qualifying rounds will advance to the centralized selection phase, scheduled to take place from June 19 to 22 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. During this stage, the players will undergo more in-depth technical assessments and physical evaluations before final selections are made.

The Women’s Football Talent Identification Programme is one of the key initiatives within the women’s football development strategy jointly implemented by the VFF and FIFA. The programme aims to expand the pool of young female players, strengthen the foundation for player development, and support the long-term building of future national women’s teams through a sustainable talent pathway.
