Meanwhile, the key task of the U23 National Team is the U23 Asian Cup 2024 will take place in Qatar from April 15 to May 3.

The leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation acknowledged the recommendations from coach Philippe Troussier on teamwork and supported the French coach’s views on the principles of preparing and focusing the team when always trying to ensure a balance of benefits between the national tournament (V.League) and national teams. Coach Philippe Troussier said that the most important thing is that the players need to regularly play on the field, so the domestic league needs to be a priority. Therefore, gathering the team for a long time is not necessary because it will affect the competition schedule of clubs in the League. From this perspective and based on the actual conditions of Vietnamese football, coach Philippe Troussier calculates that the time for each team gathering will be about 1 week before each FIFA Day. This time fund is enough to ensure the team’s professional work, while also ensuring the interests of the clubs and the interests of the tournament.

Recently, coach Philippe Troussier has also assigned assistants in the coaching staff to attend V.League matches to monitor the performance of players on the roster of the Vietnamese team and U23 Vietnam, and at the same time look for new elements to add to the team’s strength. In addition, the French coach also went directly to Japan to check the performance of striker Nguyen Cong Phuong, who plays for Yokohama Club in J.League 2 and directly met with the players who are treating injuries, especially in cases of prolonged injuries like defender Doan Van Hau to grasp the situation, or in the case of midfielder Que Ngoc Hai, whose recovery is still not guaranteed to join the team.

It is known that to improve medical work for the team, VFF has established a Sports Medicine Department with Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, who currently holds the position of Member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Medical Committee, Deputy Medical Committee of VFF, is directly in charge. The establishment of the VFF Sports Medicine Department combined with the close cooperation program with Vinmec hospital is assessed to help further improve the quality of medical work for the teams, especially research and application. Apply measures to prevent and treat injuries and diseases that occur during training and competition for players.
