VFF organized a ceremony to award the Vietnam National Football Team for winning the ASEAN Cup 2024

This morning (January 8), at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), a ceremony was held to award the Vietnam National Football Team for winning the ASEAN Cup 2024. The event took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere. It was an occasion to honor the efforts and contributions of the players, coaching staff, and the entire team.

It can be said that the journey to the championship title of the Vietnam National Football Team at the ASEAN Cup 2024 is a story full of emotion and pride. After 8 matches, the Vietnam team won 7 and drew 1. The team displayed excellent form and a strong fighting spirit, overcoming many strong opponents to reach the highest position. Notably, for the first time in the history of the tournament, in addition to the championship trophy, the Vietnam National Football Team also earned the most prestigious individual awards, including: the “Best Player” and “Top Scorer” titles for Nguyễn Xuân Son, and the “Best Goalkeeper” title for Nguyễn Đình Triệu.

In particular, after returning to the country, the national team had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government Office to report their achievements. The Prime Minister awarded the team and its members with prestigious honors, including the First-Class Labor Order for the team and the Third-Class Labor Order for six outstanding players: Nguyễn Xuân Son, Đỗ Duy Mạnh, Nguyễn Quang Hải, Nguyễn Tiến Linh, Nguyễn Hoàng Đức, and Nguyễn Đình Triệu.

At the award ceremony for the national team, on behalf of the VFF Standing Committee, VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn expressed gratitude for the support and contributions of the sponsors, businesses, and individuals toward the team. President Trần Quốc Tuấn emphasized that this recognition is well-deserved for the team’s efforts and outstanding performance in this year’s tournament. He also expressed hope that the Vietnam National Football Team, as well as Vietnamese football in general, will continue to receive support and investment to further strengthen its development in the future.

On behalf of the coaching staff and the entire team, Coach Kim Sang Sik thanked the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for their support and for providing the best conditions for the team, from the preparation process to the tournament itself. He also expressed sincere thanks to the sponsors, businesses, philanthropists, and the numerous fans who have shown their affection and support for the team. Coach Kim Sang Sik shared: “We didn’t just win the tournament this year; this is also a title for all the fans. The Vietnam National Football Team will not stop here. We will continue to develop and perform well in the upcoming journey.”
