On the evening of February 27 at the First Hotel (HCMC), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a meeting and congratulated Vietnam U23 on winning the 2022 AFF U23 Championship.
The delegation included Mr. Vo Quoc Thang – Director of Ho Chi Minh City II National Coaching Center; Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF Acting President; Mr. Cao Van Chong – VFF Vice President; Mr. Tran Anh Tu- VFF Standing Member; Mr. Le Hoai Anh – VFF General Secretary, and representatives of leaders of partner units, sponsors…
At the ceremony, head coach Dinh The Nam shared: “I am really happy with the achievement of winning the AFF U23 Championship. On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank VFF, departments and clubs for responding very quickly to add players in time when U23 Vietnam was affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. Thanks also to the businesses and overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia for their support, and thanks to the Vietnamese fans who always accompany and cheer for U23 Vietnam.”
Captain Dung Quang Nho affirmed: “Acquiring the achievement of winning the AFF U23 Championship is a great effort of the whole team. However, U23 Vietnam would like to thank the close attention of VFF leaders, the coaching assistants, overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia… It was really too emotional when the first time a player’s life was away from home in Lunar New Year. I myself unfortunately contracted Covid-19, only recovered before the final match. I don’t know why, just go to the field, keep fighting like I’ve never had Covid-19. Once again, thank you all.”
On behalf of VFF Standing Committee, Acting President Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated U23 Vietnam on a great achievement in the AFF U23 Championship 2022. “It can be said that winning the AFF U23 championship is a miracle for U23 Vietnam. Never before have we had to compete with such a large shortage and never before, have we had to “rescue” with 2 waves of reinforcements by bus and by airplane. Vietnamese football started the new year 2022 with unbelievable achievements and now, U23 Vietnam creates a new milestone. We complete the collection of champions U16, U19 and U23 AFF Championship. This is definitely a stepping stone for young players to become professional players,” said Mr. Tuan.
Also at the ceremony, VFF awarded a bonus of 2.7 billion VND, Hung Thinh Group awarded 1 billion VND, Nam Huong Company awarded 100 million VND to U23 Vietnam.
