During the training process to prepare for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the teams were provided with 24 OCEAUNZ balls by FIFA and the Organizing Committee. This is a ball specifically designed for the 2023 Women’s World Cup with features to increase accuracy, speed, stability and support fast-paced matches.

The appearance of the OCEAUNZ ball also added excitement to the training session with fitness coach Cedric Roger. The gradual familiarization with the official match ball will help the players better prepare for the upcoming matches. Sharing with the press before the training session, striker Vu Thi Hoa said: “Vietnam women’s team will face the America and the world’s strongest teams. We will research about the opponent so that we can do our best in the match. If I get to play at the Women’s World Cup, I aim to show my full potential and hope to score goals in those matches. In recent days, the whole team has changed a bit when practicing. I think for the upcoming opponents, I need more fitness, so this week the coaching assistants gave the team more physical training, and also combined with tactical exercises so that we could perform well in the upcoming tournament”.

Vu Thi Hoa is a young striker called to the national team by coach Mai Duc Chung from the beginning of 2023. The 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia is also the first SEA Games in this player’s football career. Sharing about the recent tournament, Vu Thi Hoa said: “The happiest thing is that I attended the SEA Games for the first time and won the Gold Medal. Besides, I also learned many things. Although I did not get to play much at the 32nd SEA Games, coach Mai Duc Chung and seniors have taught me many things and I am also gradually improving what I am lacking”.

At the 32nd SEA Games, Vu Thi Hoa was put into the field by coach Mai Duc Chung in two matches against Malaysia in the group stage and the match against host Cambodia in the semifinals. “I am very happy that the coach trusted me to come on the field. The match against the Malaysia women’s team I played for 20 minutes and the match against the Cambodia women’s team I played the whole match. However, I am not satisfied with my performance through those matches because I have not shown my full potential and still have many shortcomings in terms of physical strength and tactics. Those are also things that I have to improve in the near future, “said the young striker of the Hanoi club.

The Vietnam women’s team will have one more week of practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before leaving for Germany on June 5.
